The Second Scrutiny
LauraBa267, Monday 08 March 2010 - 00:00:00 // comment: 0
Please pray for our elect in RCIA this Sunday, March 14th, as we celebrate the Second Scrutiny at the 10:00AM mass.
Celebrated on the 4th Sunday of Lent, The Second of three scrutinies is a rite of self-searching and repentance through which the elect are asked to examine the nature of sin and to invite Christ the Redeemer, who is light of the world, to fill their spirit. The faithful assembled are encouraged to pray for their own renewal as well as for the elect, that their eyes and hearts may be fully opened as they are guided by the light of God in their lenten journey toward full communion with the Roman Catholic Church.
