St. Mary's can help family whose home was destroyed by fire
Jim Wozniak, Friday 04 July 2008 - 16:10:50 // comment: 0

St. Mary's parishioners can help the Cutshall family, whose house on Claude Gray Road was destroyed by fire Wednesday.

Katherine Angulo, director of the parish's youth program, said Mrs. Cutshall is a member of the parish and well known by some of the youth. She and her husband and their four children were away from home at the time of the fire, but they lost a few pets.

"Part of being a community is to be there during difficult times, when the love and support of a community are need it the most," Angulo said. "We know this family will recover and soon they will receive the help that they need."

She said St. Mary's can step forward and help.

"The youth are leading a 'home shower' for the Cutshall’s family," she said. "We have registered at Target under the Saint Mary's Church name some of the basic kitchen supplies, bathroom supplies, pillows, blankets, and cleaning supplies.

"If you are able to help please visit Target follow the registration list and bring your purchase to the office. We will collect these gifts until Saturday July 12 were we will deliver it to the family."

Summer picnics to be held at St. Mary's
Jim Wozniak, Sunday 15 June 2008 - 22:08:34 // comment: 0

Parishioners will have a chance to feel the summer breeze on the grounds of St. Mary's in a new program initiated by the Parish Pastoral Council.

On Saturday, June 28, after the 5 p.m. Mass, there will be a picnic on the church grounds. The church will provide hot dogs and condiments, and parishioners can fill out the rest of their meal with whatever they choose to bring. It is not a pot luck dinner but still a chance to mingle with other parishioners and enjoy the evening.

Outdoor games will be provided.

Another picnic will be held about the time the next school year starts.

For more information, call or speak to a Parish Council member.
